In Nagasaki, the ship docks right in the downtown area, close to the local streetcars. We had already been to Nagasaki on a previous visit, so this time we decided to give the Peace Park a miss, and instead visit the Glover Gardens in the rain (within walking distance of the ship). After this, we caught a taxi (¥1340, about £9) the few miles to the start of the cable car up Mt Inasa, and admired the view. A quick walk back through the downtown area (via the slightly underwhelming spectacle bridge) and streetcar back to the ship completed a slightly less frenetic day. Dockside entertainment this day was a dragon dance, sadly cut short by the weather. (Looks like dragons don't like the rain!) |
