The Hermitage

The Hermitage is possibly the world’s greatest art museum.  We spent 2 hours here, seeing the state rooms and a quick swish through the Renainnasance and Impressionist collections. We only scratched the surface – if you appreciate art of all periods, this is definitely a place that you could spend all day in.  Although busy, it seemed to swallow up most of the crowds (at least, compared to some other Russian destinations).
