A cruise to the Baltic, and in particular to St Petersburg, has long been on our wish list, and it has gradually migrated to the top. Our initial plan was to sail out of Dover on the Constellation, but that cruise sold out before we got our act together. However, due to the large demand, Celebrity decided to relocate another of their ships from the Caribbean to the Baltic for most of the summer, and base it out of Amsterdam. When we heard about this, we wasted no more time. A few quick phone calls, some negotiating with the travel agent over the price, some flights from EasyJet to get us to and from Amsterdam and we were sorted ... As with the previous cruises, the following pages describe the various ports of call, our impressions of them and lots of pictures. Amsterdam pre-cruise (getting started) Stockholm (a second large ship) Helsinki (a cathedral crawl) St Petersburg (lots of palaces) Tallinn (lots of souvenir shops) Copenhagen (a little, but very expensive, beer) Oslo (lots of rain and statues) The Grand Buffet (lots of food) Various People (can you see yourself?)
