Forest Fires

Around the time we visited British Columbia, they were having one of the driest summers for ages.  As a result, the fire risk was extreme.  When we were there, the trans Canada highway through Kootenay National Park was intermittently closed due to smoke and fire was seriously starting to threaten Kelowna.
