We arrived early in the morning in Cobh to a picture perfect Irish scene - green fields, blue sky and no wind.  Cobh is the historic deep water port 20 miles from Cork, were many transatlantic liners made their last call before sailing to North America.

We wandered around the heritage centre at the docks, and then caught the train into Cork.  The railway station is right alongside the ship's dock and the train takes you into Cork in around 20 minutes for around 6 return - be warned though that it is a 15 minute walk from Cork Station to the city centre.  In Cork itself we just walked around, had a coffee, and then headed back after a few hours to wander around Cobh.  A good, relaxing day.
