The ship docked in Zebrugge, and we shared a taxi with 3 other couples for the short drive to Bruges. Bruges is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe. As soon as we got there, Dave took the 300+ steps climb up the bell tower, were he then got deafened by standing underneath the bells of the carillon at the wrong time. After that, we walked around the town, called in to the Groenigne Museum to admire the colourful and occasionally somewhat gruesome medieval artwork, took a short ride on the canals while dodging the showers, and finally ended up in the Half Moon Brewery, sampling the Belgium beer! A full and enjoyable day. |
